Brigid Schulte’s boss was using the wrong terminology.
What he called "leisure time" is more correctly called "slack time": the accumulated, disconnected segments of time between the completion of one task and the commencement of the next.
Leisure time is a haitus between required tasks that may be devoted to something entirely different but not required.
