A capella group Pentatonix gains popularity with every song they release. The five-person vocal team hails from Texas but did not  meet until 2011, a few hours before they competed ( and won) on season 3 of NBC’s The Sing-Off. Scott Hoying, Kirstie Maldonado, Mitch Grassi, Avi Kaplan and Kevin Olusola have collectively amassed over two million subscribers to their Youtube channel, and many of their cover songs – like” Gotye’s Somebody That I Used To Know”- got over twenty million hits. I have social media to thank, too, for my introduction to the ensemble. I found links to their music on The Fountain and the Fury tumblr page! Kaplan and Olusola talk to Bob about the group, its music, current tour, and what they hope will come from their second album PTX Vol 2. So far, the album is #1 on Billboard’s Independent Album Chart. There’s certainly more to come from these musicians.
