She burst onto the scene ten years ago with the smash album Come Away With Me, and over four subsequent studio albums, Norah Jones has released compelling material while moving effortlessly between genres. Established in the Jazz world through her signing with Blue Note records, she also plays in a country band reflective of her Texas roots called ‘The Little Willies.’ For her latest work, Jones recruited producer Brian Burton, better known as Danger Mouse, as a co-writer and producer. Burton has made his name in the music business with offbeat projects like a collaborative group with Cee Lo Green called Gnarles Barkley, and 2004’s The Grey Album which enmeshed the music of The Beatles with lyrics from rapper Jay-Z.
Jones’ latest album is an an honest and melancholy offering called Little Broken Hearts. The video for her lead single, Happy Pills can be seen here:
Jones is on tour in support of Little Broken Hearts, beginning on June 20 in Indianapolis. More tourdates include:
