Eric Hutchinson

by Dan Bloom, producer

In an era of electronic pop music laced with digitized vocals, an instrumentalist who writes his own heartfelt songs deserves to be noticed. Eric Hutchinson’s first record deal was short and sour. Not long after putting pen to paper with Maverick records, Madonna’s former label was frozen and eventually disbanded, but rather than get discouraged and give up, Hutchinson recorded an album, titled ‘Sounds Like This’ independently. Given a key boost from celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, Hutchinson’s album climbed into the top 10 sellers on iTunes. Since then Hutchinson has carved out a career for himself through honest songwriting, relentless touring and accessibility to his fans or ‘hutch-heads’ as the diehards are known.

Eric Hutchinson is a guy you want to root for amid his manufactured counterparts. Here is the lead single ‘Watching You Watch Him’ from his latest album ‘Moving Up Living Down.’
