Todd Snider

Bob speaks with Nashville-based alternative-country singer-songwriter Todd Snider about religion and politics and their often messy intersection. Snider also discusses his career and the music from his latest album, Agnostic Hymns & Stoner Fables. In addition to that solo CD which came out in March, Snider is releasing a cover album of Jerry Jeff Walker songs on April 24. It’s called Time As We Know It. Snider calls it a tribute to his original musical hero. “He’s the guy I saw at 19 and decided to try to be like. His are the first songs I learned.”

You can also hear a rebroadcast of Todd Snider’s Tipsy Gypsy show on Outlaw Country, Sirius XM Channel 60 on Wednesday April 11th at 7pm eastern.

  1. I take exception to your comment, Bob, that seemingly all southern pastors are of one mind about wealth and sin and, apparently, the Tea Party movement. I also object to your guest's statement, which went unchallenged, that suburban Christians (everywhere, not just in the south?) are all the same in being opposed to his and your right-minded views.

You may both have attended church as children and therefore think you know what you're talking about, but you don't. However religion has failed you, I am deeply sorry. I wish I could change that. But you are not an expert on Christianity. Your snide, insider joke type comments demean you. In this country today there is no more biased, narrow-minded and self-righteous bigot than an anti-Christian one.
