essayist Bhavani MurugesanEach week, we’ll hear a new This I Believe essay – this time by Bhavani Murugesan. A native of New Delhi, India, she came to America with her parents when she was 15. She studied law at Boston University and now works as an attorney in Sacramento. Murugesan says the two years she lived with her parents after college and law school were a financial necessity but they were better than therapy. She believes that time together allowed her to appreciate her parents not just as father and mother, but as individuals and as friends. Her essay is included in the new book and audiobook, This I Believe: Life Lessons.
