Personally, Waylon Jennings had a big effect on the country music scene, leading the so-called outlaw movement that rebelled against the music establishment. Jennings’ music also had a big effect on other artists, and that influence is evident on a three-volume set of CDs titled “The Music Inside: A Collaboration Dedicated to Waylon Jennings.” The first volume was released in February, and features Kris Kristofferson, John Hiatt, Alabama, Waylon himself, his son Shooter, and his widow Jessi Colter. Colter spoke with Bob about the project.
The second volume will come out in June, and the third will be released in the fall.
