Each week, we’ll hear a new This I Believe essay – this week by Connie Spittler. After a career of writing and producing corporate videos, Spittler now conducts workshops that encourage saving life’s memories for others. As a wife, mother, grandmother and essayist, Spittler finds renewal in the natural world that surrounds her. When she wrote this essay, that was the majestic beauty of Arizona’s Catalina Mountains, especially those few moments every evening when the setting sun illuminated them. Spittler believes making time to embrace nature gives her the strength to face life’s challenges.
