Bob’s interview about the new film Win Win with writer/director Thomas McCarthy and his young actor Alex Shaffer quickly turned into a charming conversation about life and college plans for the 17 year old real-life wrestler. They also discussed the movie, which stars Paul Giamatti as an ethically challenged lawyer who also coaches high school wrestling.

McCarthy is also an actor who’s appeared in HBO’s The Wire, and the film, Good Night, and Good Luck. He’s also the writer and director behind The Station Agent. As for Schaffer, this is his first acting job, if you don’t count that 6th grade performance of The Pirates of Penzance.
