Dan Gediman, Aldous Huxley and This I Believe

Each week Bob is joined by Dan Gediman, the Executive Director of This I Believe, Inc. to discuss one of the original essays from the 1950s radio series. This week’s featured essay is by Aldous Huxley. The English novelist was born into a family of scientists and writers and is best known for his books “Brave New World” (1932) and “Point Counter Point” (1928). Huxley said past attempts to improve the world yielded some neat gadgets, indoor plumbing and personal hygiene, and he believed individuals could make life better in the future by harnessing intelligence, goodwill and political action.
