John C. Reilly stopped by to discuss his starring role in the new comedy “Cyrus.” Reilly’s character is unhappily divorced and strikes up an unlikely romance with Marisa Tomei. The only trouble is her grown son – Jonah Hill in the title role – doesn’t really want anyone to come between him and his mother. The film was written and directed by the Duplass brothers who are committed to realism and try to stay far away from Hollywood cliches. And the brothers ask their actors to improvise their lines, based loosely on their script. “Cyrus” opens this weekend in New York and Los Angeles.
