Dan Gediman, Julia Adams and This I Believe

Each week Bob is joined by Dan Gediman, the Executive Director of This I Believe, Inc. to discuss one of the original essays from the 1950s radio series. This week’s featured essay is by Julia Adams. As a young girl growing up in Arkansas, she longed to be an actress. Even though the odds were against her, Adams believed in the inner voice that encouraged her towards her dream – and it ultimately helped her find success in movies and television. She’s been acting now for more than 50 years. Adams played the object of affection to “The Creature From the Black Lagoon,” co-starred with movie icons John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart and Charlton Heston — and has more recently appeared on TV shows like “Lost” and “Cold Case.” Click here to read a transcript and to hear the audio of the “This I Believe” essay by actress Julia Adams.
