40 Years of Sesame Street

The producers at The Bob Edwards Show range in age from our mid 20s to late 30s. Most of us watched Sesame Street when we were kids and carry fond memories of the program. Andy Danyo even remembered a specific song about a girl and her llama going to the dentist, which obviously made quite an impression. Some of us now have kids of our own, and it’s pretty cool to watch them watching the same characters we used to – as well as new ones like Zoe, Telly, Rosita and of course Elmo. If you’d like to rekindle your love of Kermit, Big Bird, Bert and Ernie and all the rest, click here to see some You Tube clips of classic episodes.

Here are our favorite Sesame Street characters:

Dan Bloom: Mr. Snuffleupagus

Chad Campbell: Super Grover, Oscar and the Count (“2-year-old Nicholas Campbell is a BIG fan of Elmo.”)

Andy Danyo: Cookie Monster

Ed McNulty: Cookie Monster (“I was always fascinated by the Children’s Television Workshop because I thought it was actually populated by children and I wanted to work there.”)

Cristy Meiners: Guy Smiley, Kermit, Bert, Count von Count (“I really loved the Count, for some reason.  I think it was his satin purple cape.”)

Ariana Pekary: Grover, Oscar, Count von Count

Geoffrey Redick: Big Bird (“I always wished I could be friends with a giant, friendly bird.”)

  1. Mr.Edwards, the interview with Robert Frank was the best, what a thoughtful, natural and remarkable man is Mr.Frank and you enabled him to display those fine qualities.
