World-class, virtuosic, jaw-dropping, incredible…when discussing guitarist Stanley Jordan, even this list of honorific adjectives barely do him justice. As Bob says, you really have to see Stanley Jordan play to understand his talent. He regularly plays two guitar lines on one instrument, plays one guitar with each hand, or plays piano with one hand and guitar with the other, switching when necessary.
Though he is an immensely gifted player, Jordan’s expansive mind is also concerned with untraditional uses for music, including analysis of financial data through sound and music therapy for sick and developmentally challenged people.
Stanley has joined us in the studio once before, and with his immense talent, friendly nature and wonderful playing, we always love spending time with him, and clearly, we aren’t the only ones. Jordan’s latest album, “Friends,” features guest appearances from the likes of Regina Carter, Charnett Moffett, Bucky Pizzarelli and many more.
