Illustrator and poet Calef Brown has been creating mad, wonderful books for kids since 1998, with the publication of his first book Polkabats and Octobpus Slacks, the book that made Daniel Pinkwater sit up and take notice. Brown’s most recent book is Pirateria: The Wonderful, Plunderful Pirate Emporium.
The other Calef Brown book Daniel Pinkwater recommended is a collection of Edward Lear’s poems titled His Shoes Were Far Too Tight
