Sabrina Dubik and This I Believe

essayist Sabrina DubikEach week, we’ll hear a new This I Believe essay – this time from Sabrina Dubik. As a child, she learned not to talk to strangers.  But in college, she decided to befriend an elderly customer at the restaurant where she worked. The experience taught Dubik the benefits of engaging with random people she encounters in life. Since writing her essay as a student at Lewis University, Dubik has graduated and left behind her part-time waitressing job to begin her career as an English teacher at Minooka High School in Illinois. While teaching, she strives to inspire enthusiasm for literature, writing, and the art of living life. Her essay is featured in the book This I Believe: Life Lessons.
