essayist Tim WilsonEach week, we’ll hear a new This I Believe essay – this time from Sergeant Tim Wilson, a member of the California Highway Patrol for twenty-three years. He is currently assigned to the San Luis Obispo CHP office. Wilson enjoys photography and spending time with his wife and three children. Wilson knows that he has a dangerous job, that’s why he has a letter he wrote to his family sealed in an envelope in his locker at work. If something bad does happen to him, Wilson wants his kids to know why it’s important to strive to be a better person. He also sees the envelope every time he opens his locker and says it reminds him to be careful on the road.
