Each week, we’ll hear a new This I Believe essay – this time from John Warley. When his children were young, Warley’s family almost broke apart in divorce. That close call taught him to cherish the brief time he and his children would sleep under the same roof and he could protect them from the dangers of the wider world. He especially enjoyed roaming the house after bedtime knowing that everyone was safely and soundly asleep in their rooms. The kids are grown now and Warley and his wife now spend most of their time in Beaufort, South Carolina, watching the sunsets from their boat.
