Each week we’ll hear a new This I Believe essay – today from David Adinaro. Despite working in St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, one of the busiest hospital emergency rooms in New Jersey, Dr. Adinaro believes he must make time to fulfill more than just the medical needs of his patients. He also wants to comfort them with a simple act of human kindness. Little tasks like personally getting patients a blanket when requested are usually performed by nurses or orderlies, not by the chief of adult emergency medicine.
