The actors at Second City are a versatile bunch. They perform scripted material, they improvise new scenes at every performance, and they write scripts. It’s obviously a formula for success, given how many Second City almuni have gone on to fame and fortune in movies and television. It also means that the shows stay fresh, with new ones coming all the time. The actors Bob talked with appear in “Spoiler Alert: Everybody Dies” and “The Absolute Best Friggin’ Time of Your Life.”
If you can’t make it to Chicago to see those performances before they close, look for a touring show. Or stop by the Second City theaters in Toronto or Hollywood.
If Chicago is in your travel plans, make sure to stay over Sunday night and take a drop-in class at the Second City Training Center. If you do, arrive early, because it’s always full.
