Ed Hamilton has been in the public sculpture business for 25 years, and in that time, he’s created a number of memorable works, including “The Spirit of Freedom,” “The Amistad Memorial” and his first, “The Booker T. Washington Memorial.”
His latest is “The Lincoln Memorial at Waterfront Park”
Hamilton invited Bob to visit his studio in Louisville, where he’s worked since 1978. The space is personal and lived-in, nearly bursting at the seams with all of the models, scale figures, and leftover pieces from every sculpture Hamilton has created. It was an intimate look into the genesis of so many pieces of art that are on display for untold thousands of people each day.
