Here are this month’s book recommendations from Salon.com book critic Laura Miller. While her fiction choices veer a little toward the macabre, she promises that they all are good reads:
Fiction
The Little Stranger, by Sarah Waters
How To Sell, by Clancy Martin
Dark Places, by Gillian Flynn
Nonfiction
Rapt: Attention and the Focused Life, by Winifred Gallagher
Laura also recommended listening to audio tapes of those classics you haven’t had time to read, and mentioned that recently she listened to a number of Anthony Trollope’s novels. Here’s the Amazon page showing which Trollope novels are available on audio book, but of course, you can probably get most of these at your local library.
