Christopher Buckley

I am the first to admit that I have an odd sense of humor and I happen to love satire and sarcasm. In fact, my Dad and I share the same dry sense of humor that not many people get. This doesn’t mean that we don’t get things that other people find funny, it just means that we laugh a little harder at the type of humor that Christopher Buckley writes.

That said, when I began reading Buckley’s latest book Supreme Courtship the only thing I knew about him was that he had written Thank You For Smoking , which was a novel that I love reading over and over again. So I had high hopes for Supreme Courtship. The plot was complex enough to draw me in but not too complex to where I was constantly having to re-read parts. The dialogue and characters were witty and intriguing and made me excited to pick up the book again and again. By the time I was done with it I was thirsting for more of the characters and more of the book. It was truly that good. Buckley brings the Highest Court in the Land down a notch with his humor while still allowing it to remain dignified. Buckley has set high standards for himself with his last few novels and I am happy to say he does not disappoint with this latest venture.

Supreme Courtship is on bookshelves now.
